THE SOVEREIGN DROP 049 - On High Leverage Characteristics
Not a newsletter, but a ritual. One drop each week. Distilled wisdom for the whole man.
Field Note: On High Leverage Characteristics
Not all characteristics give equal returns. There are a few characteristics that give outsized returns.
A practical example: If you HAD to choose between being steady and having integrity, being a man of integrity gives you exponentially more leverage than being steady. You can still be a good man without being known as steady, but you can’t be a good man without integrity.
Off the hop, love, integrity, and courage are three high leverage characteristics that come to my mind with outsized returns.
I asked the question last week: What would 2x courage look like in your life?
It’s a question I’ve been sitting with too.
I hope you’ve written your list, or at least one or two things that came to mind. What would you do if you had 2x the courage?
Here’s the discovery which is so elemental it’s amusing.
The list of things you wrote on your list - what your life would like if you had 2x the courage - are 100% possible, and the only thing in the way of them happening is YOUR ABILITY TO DEPLOY MORE COURAGE.
That’s it. No other bottlenecks than you.
Liberating and incriminating all at once.
The single greatest factor to making your list a reality is 100% dependent on you.
We talk about “dreams” a lot, and associated with that list is often the barriers to getting to the dreams, but this list of desired things on the other side of more courage is doable, plausible, and entirely possible if you decide.
And there it is.
Your list is 100% possible if you deploy an added dose of courage.
Question:
Will you deploy the courage needed to accomplish what you really want?
Integration:
Courage is acting in the face of fear. Do that this week. Act on the thing that you fear.
Benediction:
May you stop calling it a dream when it’s really a decision you keep postponing.
The list is possible and the only bottleneck is you. Go deploy it.
I believe in what you are becoming.
